First Public Meeting is for a Zoning Amendment for a proposed apartment building development at 750 Mapleview E – switching the Environmental Protection zones, and changing from Residential Multiple Dwelling Second Density to Residential Apartment Dwelling Second Density-1, with tons o' Special Provisions, because what developer actually ever wants to follow the damned "rules"?
Second Public Meeting is to change the Employment Development Community Improvement Plan to add the "Sovereign Defence Investment Readiness Program" – i.e., incentivizing development of war- and spy-related industries. (NOTE THAT THIS IS SCHEDULED TO BE PASSED AT THE CITY COUNCIL IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THIS MEETING AND SWORN INTO BYLAWS, WITHOUT ANY CHANCE OF INFORMED DISCUSSION OR DEPUTATION.)
Third Public Meeting is to change the Zoning Bylaw so that anything related to "Sovereign Defence" – i.e., war- and spy-related industries – ARE NOT SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS AND STANDARDS OF THE ZONING BYLAW. This, too, will become a Bylaw at City Council immediately following this meeting, with no further chance for public engagement, discussion or deputation.
