A public meeting and two staff reports tonight, darlings – let's hope we got a potty break after City Building Committee!
The public meeting is regarding a proposed city-wide amendment to the Comprehensive Zoning Bylaw for Affordable Housing. They're trying to facilitate more affordable housing options, and to address barriers to housing affordability, clarify definitions, update development standards for second suites and detached accessory dwellings, and improve implementation of the bylaw to support affordable housing initiatives. No small feat, muffins!!! Hopefully there will be some helpful folks speaking, in order to edumacate those particular councillors who get cranky when we start talking about allowing people to have a roof over their heads.
The first staff report will be on a zoning bylaw amendment application for 821 Big Bay Point Road in Ward 10 – more townhouses, darlings, because imagination is in short supply, it seems.
The second staff report will be regarding the Site Plan for the SmartCentres lakeshore development (ward 2) on Bradford Street.
