Oh, muffins, I do adore this Committee – they're always so positive and collaborative and chummy, and the staff seem so very relaxed chatting with them (until you-know-who crashes the party, of course).
This will start with an open delegation by Hannah Bregman concerning walkability in Barrie, especially in the Urban Growth Centres, and how walkable neighbourhoods could benefit the City. (Perhaps reducing the number of speeding cars whose drivers seem oblivious to traffic signals, crosswalks, and common decency might be of assistance???)
Also, a presentation concerning the Alternative Fuel Study (hot air from you-know-who as a source of power, muffins? I vote yes!).
We've also got reports from the Heritage Barrie Committee (including adding Collier St. United Church to the Municipal Heritage Register), Communities in Bloom, and theActive Transportation and Sustainability Committee. Then some reports on the Alternative Fuel Study for the Corporate Fleet and Barrie Transit.
And finally, a confidential memo (which I'm afraid we won't be able to read, duckies) "concerning a position, plan, procedure, criteria or instruction to be applied to any negotiations carried on or to be carried on by or on behalf of the municipality or local board matter." Whatevertheheck THAT means...
Then hopefully a potty break before Planning Committee at 7pm!
