My wrists have somewhat recovered from last week's marathon of City meetings, and here we go again! It will likely be another long and busy night at General Committee – grab your snacks!
First off, a presentation about the city's Transportation Asset Management Plan.
Then, all the stuff they didn't get around to finishing on May 25, because of all the blabbering. Starting with the 2022 Business Plan and Budget Directions – yes, darlings, everything old is new again, and we're off to the races preparing for next year's budget. Expect fist pounding and mayhem, this won't be for the faint of heart...
If we survive that, there's also reducing the speed limit on Lakeshore Drive, and appointments to the Council Compensation Review Committee, which are also leftovers from May 25. Then it's back to our scheduled programming.
LORDY LORDY, beginning with that proposed atrocity, the Testament Sign To The Massive Ego (and using city resources to kick off his 2022 campaign, with his campaign motto emblazoned in Heritage Park, because... yeah... how could that be a massive conflict of interest, hmmm....?).
If you haven't already smashed your television in disgust after that one, you can also watch the approval of the Transportation Asset Management Plan, proposed new bike lanes, a review of the City's Cultural Grants, Capital Project Status Report, Development Charge Update Study and Bylaw Amendment, sale of a patch of city-owned land, investigating safety measures on Penetanguishene Road, reducing the number of days that neighbours can terrorize dogs, children and trauma survivors with those godforsaken fireworks going off every freaking day it seems (biased? moi?), and a three-way... um... STOP at Crawford & Patterson.
Snacks, gin, and perhaps a personal masseur are in order, muffins!
