A busy night Monday, starting with a Public Meeting about the proposed Development Charge Bylaw. Then it's the report from the Finance and Corporate Services Committee, including the Investment Management Annual Report, Investigation of Maintenance of Pedestrian Walkways, Debt Issuance Scenarios, and a Water Bill Support Program for low-income households and small businesses.
New Stuff – the creation of an Arts Advisory Committee (Yay Arts! ), expanding Open Air Dunlop for this summer, licensing absentee landlords, collaborating with Living Green Barrie, continuing to allow rich people to avoid paying parking tickets if they can afford to eat at restaurants (I paraphrase, darlings, I paraphrase), naming a hockey thing after a hockey person (yay arts?), and how to deal with stop sign requests when traffic studies are hobbled by the same pandemic we're all hobbled by these days.
And wait – HOLD THE PHONE! – two items regarding the BIA. The appointment of the delightful Sarah Jensen and Janet Kemp to the Board – oh muffins, my condolences, would you like to borrow my breastplate?
And finally, since crashing into inanimate objects is soooo 2020, the ever-fragrant Ward 10 Councillor is moving that the BIA come before Council by the end of June, to present their governance model (WHAT governance model, dahrlings?), and their vision – INCLUDING PLANS FOR EXPANSION. Oh my, honeychild, please TRY TO READ THE ROOM!!!
