Ooh, mmmmuuuffffffinnnnssss! This meeting will take place the day after the BIA Chair has to face the wrath of the Integrity Commissioner – and no longer be the Chair.

Now, they did pass that bewildering motion in their Surprise meeting (going illegally in camera, yet again):
"The Downtown Barrie Business Association (BIA) recognizes the challenges surrounding the opioid crisis in our country and in our community. After a full review of the proposed SCS sites in Barrie, the Downtown Barrie Business Association (BIA) supports the efforts of the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) and the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), and considers the proposed 192 Bradford Street location the optimal location of the current options, as of April 15th 2021. We recognise this location addresses the science, expert experience, satellite services and geographic location of need, whilst recognizing and minimizing the concerns of our membership and that of the greater community."
What does that last sentence even MEAN, dahrlings?!?!?
Of course, it's no surprise that they picked the site farthest from the downtown core – and farthest from the need... and deepest into residential territory. BUT that first part of their motion is a most pleasant surprise – and can easily be held up for them, should a different site than the most useless one of the options be selected.
Now that the soon-to-be-former Chair has been reprimanded for the way he speaks about people, will the rest of the Board learn a sweet lesson in how to behave like semi-decent human beings? Oh, hahaha, no, I am not holding my breath, darlings. But I shall continue to faithfully report the manic goings-on, nevertheless.
