General Committee

Oh, it looks like a busy Monday night, dahlings! The "centrepiece" being a 64-page report on the follow-up to the recent harassment investigation – you remember, muffins, the one where a City Councillor behaved highly improperly towards a staff member, and then his buddies helped him get away with it by voting against the Integrity Commissioner being able to investigate and allow some consequences to his behaviour to fall down all around him... ringing a bell?

Well, it looks quite thorough, and if you read between the lines of the report, you can get a further sense of why he was able to get away with... well, if not corporal murder, at least the soul-murder of the victim and women in general.

We'll see if the Councillors from Wards 5 through 9 have the gall to vote against the policy amendments the staff have put together. Nothing would surprise me, dears, nothing would surprise me...

Other whoop-de-dos include finally getting around to the bit about lowering speed limits, the Barrie Employment Lands Strategy, a bunch of financial reports from 2020, tax ratios and capping for 2021, endorsing a national 3-digit suicide & crisis hotline, dog parks, traffic, and probably lots of bickering, stalling, and fist-pounding from the toddler section.
