City Council

YouTube, Barrie

Oh my, it looks like there will be about 2 hours of deputations tonight – one regarding the Affordable Housing report, the rest (24!!!) about closing Wilkins Beach. And if you look through the deputation requests, ain't nobody happy about this one, dahlings! (A few of the submitted letters seem none-too-pleased with DancesWithHydroPoles, who added the beach to last year's Tourism brochure... oh heavens!)

Also up on the menu, Deputy Mayor Ward (helloooo, handsome!) makes a direct motion to support the Redwood Park Communities in their funding application (hopefully a no-brainer, as the kids say). Plus a direct motion from Councillor Harvey who wants to cancel people's parking tickets if they can prove they've purchased from a Barrie restaurant. (Can you say "Entitlement" kiddies? – so people who can't afford to pay parking tickets have to pay them anyhow, but if you can afford a swanky meal, you can park as badly as you wish??? Something stinks about this, dahlings, in a most tone-deaf manner.)

Grab your gin, grab your popcorn, and I'll see you at City Council!
